Systems and Processes

I love systems and processes because they don’t get tired or forget. However, they have one major weakness; it’s inherent in their design or, perhaps more accurately, their designer. I must admit that my systems aren’t fully baked, which recently left me with my proverbial pants down. I woke up, and I was 100% percent sure that I’d not only created my newsletters for the week but also scheduled them to be published and distributed to my loyal supporters – “thank you,” loyal supporters.

Anyway, that did not happen, so I urge you to learn from my mistake and review your systems and processes to ensure all holes are plugged.

Never fear, for all is not lost – I learned from my shortcomings this day💪🏾!

Creating successful Google Ads or any form of paid advertising requires the right mindset. It’s important to understand that campaigns should be created based on the client’s needs at every stage of their journey rather than just for the sake of making a profit. A “Run and Gun” approach may work in cinematography, but it’s not effective in real estate advertising. Your campaigns don’t have to be complex. It’s better to start small and gradually increase the depth of your campaigns as your budget allows.

I mean, wow first I’m getting unsolicited, colostrum supplement emails in my inbox and now Elon Musk is trying to put a chip into my head.

Sometimes it’s tricky to navigate our landmine-filled world of “fountain of youth” cures.

As the sands of time shift and the nuances of age bring forth their unique challenges, it’s only natural that we find ourselves contemplating the allure of so-called ‘miracle cures.’ In a world overflowing with wellness remedies and elixirs, the challenge lies in distinguishing between genuine solutions and the dubious claims of snake oil salesmen.

How can we safeguard our well-being amid a sea of promises and ensure that our pursuit of health is grounded in reality? Well, I’m not sure. However, I wish you empowerment and discernment on this journey toward a balanced and informed approach to wellness and a meaningful life 🥂.

Navigating The Shadows

In the midst of our daily lives, a question often clouds the thoughts of my mind, “Is Evil Winning?” The airwaves echo with tales of doom, devastation, and destruction, a relentless barrage that leaves me wondering about the trajectory of our collective conscience.

What’s genuinely disheartening is the aparent desensitization, an unsettling trend where acts of violence and mistreatment seem to evoke admiration instead of dissapproval. And this from a society with such a rich history of coming to the aid of the underdogs.

Yet, I do see a glimmer of hope. I find soluce in the everyday interactions within my community. As I turn my thoughts to my neighbors on the left and right, a different story unfolds. Here, I witness a shared pursuit of common goals—as we strive to carve out the best possible life for ourselves and our families, all while extending kindness to those we encounter on this journey.

Yet, this stark duality prompts contemplation. Are we witnessing a desensitization to evil, or is it a testament to the resilience of the human spirit? The constant bombardment of negativity through various media channels cannot be ignored, yet our immediate surroundings reveal a different reality—one where human connection and shared aspirations prevail.

Now, I ask you to take a look at yourself and your neighborhood. Do you find a similar narrative of shared goals and kindness, or has the broader narrative of negativity seeped into your community? I sincerly hope that the eyes observing your neighbors are not tainted with distrust. Instead, I encourage a closer look, an opportunity to discover the threads that bind your community, fostering trust and understanding.

Let’s not lose sight of the resilience and kindness that exist within our hearts and open it up to at least our immediate circles. Perhaps, in these connections lies the antidote to the desensitization that plagues our society.

The website should be designed with a focus on user experience, ensuring that even individuals with minimal technical expertise can easily navigate and utilize its features.

Acknowledge that your website won’t start out “perfect,” and you should never consider it to be “complete.” It should evolve with your clients’ and customers’ changing needs and preferences. Implementing regular updates, feedback mechanisms, and continuous improvement based on user experiences contributes to your website’s ongoing relevance and success.

By sharing your resources, you can build a community that recognizes your passion for helping others, leading to a rewarding career in real estate.

Do Over

Every year in January, we plan our “Do Over,” and according to an Ohio State University article, “Studies have found that only 9% of Americans who set resolutions actually achieve them. Furthermore, research indicates that 23% of individuals give up on their resolution within the first week, while 43% abandon their goals by the end of January.”

I think the most significant cause of our failures is our lack of empathy for ourselves. We bang our heads on the desk when we miss a day or two and push our restart to some arbitrary date in the future. Soon, that date becomes farther and farther away from today, and with it, our dreams of accomplishing something new. I say, “Give ourselves permission to have a ‘Do Over’ and move forward one step at a time.”

Let’s stop holding ourselves back by dwelling on regrets. Our passion drives us towards betterment, and we should be kinder to ourselves in the process.

According to Wikipedia, “Humanities are academic disciplines that study aspects of human society and culture, including the fundamental questions asked by humans. During the Renaissance, the term ‘humanities’ referred to the study of classical literature and language, as opposed to the study of religion or ‘divinity.'”

It’s interesting, isn’t it? The differences between the East Coast and West Coast in real estate, like how they handle paperwork and their cultural norms. I won’t dive into politics, but these distinctions are pretty noticeable.

Thinking about how the United States grew, it’s cool how different areas learn from each other. For example, forms—Washington sticks to what’s there, while Virginia agents often change things. But back to my point.

Looking at how a country evolves and how it’s tied to its history and culture is pretty cool. Learning from mistakes is essential so we don’t repeat them. Don’t you think?

Family

How did you celebrate the Christmas holiday? Did you spend it with family and friends? Well, either way, I hope that it was enjoyable.

We celebrated Christmas by visiting our grandchildren in San Diego. It was an extra special treat because it was our first time meeting the newest family edition, bringing the total number of grandchildren to four (two boys and two girls).

The holiday season got me thinking about what “family” actually means. Merriam-Webster defines family as “the basic unit in society traditionally consisting of two parents rearing their children.” For me, it’s a little more heartfelt. My wife and I have been blessed to meet many different people over the years, and many have become dear to our hearts. However, I don’t use the word “family” lightly. I am thankful for the holiday downtime and being able to spend it with my family!

As you bring in the new year and set about your plans, I hope you include time to create memories with those you call “family.”

Strategy

What comes to your mind when you hear the word “strategy” or “strategic plan?” Do thoughts of “Ponzi schemes” or misleading “clickbait” come to mind? There is a reason I bring it to your attention. I was strolling through Twitter, I mean X, the other day, and I came across a thread asking for the audience’s input on some quality strategies for nurturing an engaging audience.

According to Merriam-Webster, a strategy is defined as:

  • (a) – a careful plan or method: a clever stratagem
  • (b) – the art of devising or employing plans or stratagems toward a goal.

That definition doesn’t suggest anything sinister to me. Yet, with all the negative feedback, it almost seems like the person was asking for help to commit a crime or something unethical.

How “thick” do we need our “skin” to be in order to offer help effectively? – Take it easy on one another, please!

Affirmations

“I’ll never be able to get my law degree,” “I’ll never be able to write a successful newsletter,” “I’ll never be a successful real estate agent,” “I’ll never be as good as ‘him/her,'” “I hate Mondays,” “etc, etc…”

If you take it upon yourself to recite positive affirmations, you are often made to feel “weird,” or you naturally feel uncomfortable reciting them. Why is that? We sputter negative affirmations all day and, in some cases, every day.

How many times have you told yourself something negative about your abilities already today?

Here is a little inspiration from an affirmation I tell myself every day.

“I live my life being thankful for its many, many blessings. I am worthy of the amazing life that the Lord has given me. I am truly grateful for my family, health, and the Lord.” – Michael B.

Remember, it’s not that affirmations are weird. It’s that our minds have been conditioned to accept negative affirmations. Stop being antagonistic toward yourself — plenty of people think it’s their sole purpose to do just that.

Every November 11th, the United States observes Veterans Day, sparking thoughts about the familiar phrase often directed at me upon learning of my military service – “Thank You For Your Service.” Though it’s a common expression nowadays, it hasn’t always held such significance.

Personally, I value actions that genuinely honor this sentiment rather than superficial acknowledgments. I believe the most meaningful tribute to those who’ve sacrificed in the service of this country is to lead a life that propels our nation forward, steering away from the quagmire of hatred, resentment, and seclusion.

Imagine the impact on your virtual open house events or live homebuyer booths – powerful 🤩. Just keep in mind that these are “top of funnel” prospects, not “clients.”

Ethics

As an individual, do you place a high value on “Ethical Behavior?” Do you tend to gravitate towards others who share the same ethical values as you, or do you feel that having a moral compass is only beneficial as long as you get what you want?

Please note that I’m not trying to be confrontational with you today. I was sitting, having my morning cup O’ Joe, and my mind began to wonder, as it often does.

Anyway, I think evil, much like any predatory force, targets the vulnerable and distorts their minds until they become so contorted that they can no longer discern the reality before them, even to the point that they think 🤔 that their strategies are “original” and of their own creation.

Does being the loudest person in the room make you right, or is it possible that your mind is clouded with distortion?

A Morning Routine

Do you have one, or does the idea of a well-structured start make you uncomfortable? For me, a day that commences with a finely-tuned system truly sets the tone for success. The specific routine matters less than having a system tailored to your needs, situation, and what’s essential for your mind and body to function at their best.

Starting the day early has always been my preference over working late into the evening. However, I believe everyone should determine their own “optimal start time” rather than following someone else’s routine. Personally, I have observed that my creativity and focus are at their peak during the early hours of the morning. Additionally, I feel less burdened by external pressures during this time.

Whether it’s 4 a.m., 5 a.m., or 6 a.m. – remember, you should be the architect of your morning routine. And ensure you make preparations the night before in order for your morning routine to have a chance at being successful.
