Issue 24 – Magazine Expeditions

Publish quarterly real estate magazines, where the pages reveal the unfolding tapestry of your local market.

This is what I like to call my “Coffee Table Spokesperson.”

Real estate agents can take potential clients on a journey through the real estate landscape, with each quarterly publication serving as a map to guide both buyers and sellers through the market’s twists and turns. These magazines are not just pages filled with property listings; they are windows into the heartbeat of your local community, revealing its evolving dynamics, trends, and opportunities. By crafting engaging content, such as market analyses, neighborhood spotlights, and success stories, you can paint a vivid picture of your knowledge of the area’s real estate market.

Think of real estate magazines as a way to weave your brand into the unique fabric of a local community. While showcasing your expertise and commitment to serving its members, your magazine can become a sought-after item.

The Fear of Success

It’s not easy to find someone who admits to being afraid of success, but many people feel that way without even realizing it. Fear of success can come from different sources, such as the fear of change, the fear of responsibility, the fear of failing after achieving success, or even imposter syndrome.

Have you ever thought about how awesome your life would be if your hard work finally paid off and things drastically changed for the better? But then, did you start worrying about how your friends and family would react to your newfound success? If that’s the case, it’s possible that your fear of success is what’s holding you back from achieving your goals.

According to a study by psychologist Matina S. Horner, which was published in the journal “Sex Roles” in 1970, she found evidence supporting the idea of the fear of success, particularly among women. Horner’s research indicated that women might avoid success due to societal pressures and stereotypes discouraging female achievement. She coined the term “fear of success” to describe this phenomenon. (Source: Horner, M. S. They say, “…a healthy dose of fear is good.” Well, that might be true, but please make sure your fear doesn’t decide how much a “healthy dose” is!
